The 2nd annual Make Music Day Green Bay will happen throughout Green Bay on June 21, 2021. Make Music Day Green Bay is a free worldwide musical celebration on June 21, with performances occurring throughout the city.

Make Music Day Green Bay is part of the international Make Music Day, which brings free, community-wide, in and outdoor musical celebrations to hundreds of cities worldwide. Make Music Day started in France in 1982 as the Fête de la Musique. Every year, the celebration is held on June 21 in hundreds of communities large and small around the globe. This year’s event will be coordinated by Mosaic Arts, Inc. with support from Arts Wisconsin.

Make Music Day Green Bay seeks volunteer music lovers looking to uncover, celebrate, and amplify the hidden and not so hidden talent among us. All ages and all skill levels are welcome to participate–whether performing an aria, banging on 5-gallon pails, performing on your porch or something in-between! This year, the challenges of COVID-19 make the event a great opportunity to help lift our community’s spirit. It also creates challenges. All activities must integrate social distancing practices and other safety measures recommended by the State of Wisconsin at the time of the event.

A Front Porch Concert Tour is being coordinated as part of the event. For more information about how to register a performance or venue for the concert tour, or to register another activity that you create, visit http://www.makemusicday.org/greenbay/. Both individuals and organizations are encouraged to participate. We plan to live-stream performances on our Facebook page @MakeMusicGB and @MosaicArtsInc. To see a list of all planned events, please visit our website at: www.makemusicday.org/greenbay/. Individual events can be added to our sign-up under “Participate.”
