We’re All In Project Winner!
The Griffon String Ensemble, presented by Midsummer’s Music, has been selected to receive the “We’re All In” grant provided by Arts Wisconsin, the WEDC (Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation) and Mosaic Arts, Inc. Midsummer’s Music, founded by Jim and Jean Berkenstock, has brought chamber music to Door County Wisconsin audiences for more than three decades. The Griffon String Ensemble is the result of a collaboration between Midsummer’s Music of Door County, the Fine Arts Institute at East High in Green Bay, and St. Norbert College which launched a ground-breaking project in 2018 to enhance student learning and academic achievement through increased exposure to—and participation in—music. As a part of the “We’re All In” grant, The Griffon Strings will work with all strings students at Washington Middle School. The ensemble will also work with other Green Bay students in educational opportunities including, but not limited to East High School and several select elementary schools. Schools selected are located within the city of Green Bay and the residency will occur virtually until it is safe to be in-person again. Details of the Grant: August 19, 2020 | Deadline EXTENDED – Mosaic Arts, Inc. is pleased to announce that Arts Wisconsin has selected our organization to receive Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation funds. These funds are to be used to support artists who lost income due to the pandemic. Mosaic Arts will distribute the funds to up to two artists.* Interested applicants will submit a proposal for a public art project in response to the theme We’re All In.
Applicant artists will submit a one or two-page electronic proposal that provides the following:
- Artist contact information
- A project title, goals, and description of what will be accomplished
- A budget, budget narrative and timeline that assumes a planning and implementation schedule that is the equivalent of four 40-hour weeks (eight 20-hour weeks, etc) with an honorarium of $750 per week for a total of $3,000. The total award is up to $6,000. *(This may be shared by other artists, but that reduces the true financial impact that the program intends).
- Images of your concept
- 2 references who can speak to the quality and timeliness of your work
- Theme: please focus on a theme that is relevant and meaningful to our community and its people
- A brief account of how the artist’s life has been affected by Covid-19.
- To the best of our ability, Mosaic Arts will use the state criteria to award program funds to one or two artists (if collaborating) whose proposals show promise to attract attention to the arts from a broad community audience, that promote and advance civic pride, creativity, safety, connections and community spirit. Income to artists will be taxable.
This program is committed to finding the right artist, art and message. Artists must be local or from within the NE Wisconsin region. This program is especially open to artists who have been financially impacted by the pandemic, artists from identity groups that are underrepresented in our public spaces and/or artists with personal connections to our community. Please share this information in your proposal.
Proposals must be submitted by midnight, September 23. A description of the project along with some photos must be done by end of year. Project does NOT have to be completed by end of 2020. ArtStreet 2020 Update:
July 20 – ArtStreet 2020 has been cancelled. While this was a difficult decision to make, we felt that due to the current circumstances regarding Covid19, it was the best decision for all. We are in the process of creating an Artstreet 2020 Art Crawl to showcase some of our ArtStreet 2020 artists. Stay tuned as details will be forthcoming.
JUNE 29 UPDATE – We will have a final answer for you by July 10 regarding whether or not we will hold the 39th annual ArtStreet. We are currently working closely with the city hoping to obtain an event permit. Safety is our primary concern. More details to come soon.

Hello Artists and Art Enthusiasts –
We wanted to give you an update on the status for ArtStreet, scheduled for August 28-30.
The safety of our artists and our community is our top priority as we move forward. We are closely monitoring this ever-changing situation and we are hopeful that health risks subside by the end of August. Currently, we are cautiously moving forward with plans for Artstreet.
We will continue to follow all guidelines and recommendations set forth by the WI Department of Health Services and local, state and federal governments. We will make changes as necessary.
If we cancel Artstreet because of the pandemic, your booth fee will be refunded. The deadline for any other cancellation is July 1 to receive your full deposit returned.
These decisions are not easy. Please keep checking back for status updates. Until then, stay positive, stay healthy and stay inspired.

over the next few days we will be highlighting our members and creating a virtual art gallery on our website. We will be promoting this on Facebook, IG and Twitter. Please continue to support our artists by purchasing their works.
Why we created our Virtual Art Gallery:
Our global community has been hard hit by COVID-19 so we are doing what we can here at Mosaic Arts to continue to support our members. We have created a virtual gallery to host our members’ works along with their business links. Our small businesses and artists need our support now more than ever. All art shows in the near future have been canceled which impacts our artists greatly. PLEASE take the time to shop in our gallery. We need to work together to get through this. Take all the necessary safety precautions, check-in with elderly neighbors to see if they need anything, support your local businesses however you can. Take a virtual painting or exercise class or get take-out at your local restaurant. And please, shop our gallery and support our amazing artists.
