About: Creating oils on canvas based on ideas that come from within, I call my work, Modern Fantasy Abstraction. My paintings have depth and movement in their designs similar to mobiles. The biomorphic shapes seem alive and may have various meanings depending on who is looking at them. The title usually suggests a possibility. I have been painting now for about thirty years. Before that, I created sculpture. Painting has become my personal area of pure imaginative expression, which allows me the most freedom of thought. I like painting from my head – visions from within. Born and raised in Milwaukee with strong parental art and music influences, I have spent most of my adult life in Green Bay. I have a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from UW-M, spent six years studying art as a post-graduate student at UW-GB, and have a master’s degree in the creative arts from Lesley University. I am retired from teaching third grade with the Green Bay Area Public Schools, and can now spend as much time as I want painting!
